Artists: Carlo Atti - Emanuele Basentini Quintet
Carlo Atti
The real number one sax player in Italy, Carlo Atti, even if still quite young, has worked and played with the biggest international jazz names, starting with his first recording at only sixteen with Massimo Urbani.
He has often played with Steve Grossman at London's Ronnie Scott, his band was the fist Italian band to play at the world famous English jazz club. He has recorded a cd with the great US pianist Hal Galper and one with Fredd Henke.
In these last years he often went to New York where he played with Bill Saxton in Harlem's clubs.
Atti is considered one of the best sax players at an international level, his fame deriving from his perfect music language in which he combines various jazz styles.
With the project Atti, Tamburini, Odorici, Cazzola, Vaggi, Tonolo, so called the "New Italian Sextet" he has gained the Four Roses award.
Together with Steve Grossman he has also performed at the opening concert of the Biennale of the Young European Artists at Marseille in 1990.
In '91his first official cd is released called Straight Ahead, al recorded together with the Canadian pianist Fred Henke, drums Massimo Dell'Omo and counter-bass Milanese. With the same Milanese, Andrea Pozza and Bob Braye, he records a CD entitled Lucky Serenade (1994).
In pop music he has worked with Rossana Casale (Jazz In Me, Strani Frutti), and Lucio Dalla (Dalla Morandi).
Emanuele Basentini
Acclaimed as one of the most interesting Italian guitarists by critics and public alike.
Born in Potenza in 1971, starts playing guitar at a tender age under his father guidance.
Basentini has been active member of the Italian jazz circuit for many years as well as gracing stages in Spain and France. In 1990 moves to Rome and starts his concert activity with famous Italian and International musicians.

Renzo Arbore (television show man on International level since the early 70es, active in the jazz scene and artistic director of a famous Italian Jazz festival), Jimmy Owens, Massimo Urbani, Steve Grossmann, Carlo Atti, Franco D'Andrea, Franco Ambrosetti, Daniel Humair, Giovanni Tommaso, Tony Scott, Bob Mover, Kirk Lightsey, Bobby Durham, Romano Mussolini, Lino Patruno, Red Pellini, Giulio Capiozzo, Evan Christofer, Gianni Cazzola, Dan Barrett, Bob Bonisolo, Deidda Brothers, Tom Kirkpatrick, Rick Margitza, Antonio Faraó, Magdalen Peroux, and many others.
Teaches "Jazz History" at the University of Music in Rome and he is also appointed Director for guitar faculty at the same Music University.
In 1997 is the absolute Prize winner at the distinguished National Competition "Massimo Urbani" and in the same year, together with is band is the winner for professional category at Baronissi National Competition. In the same year moves to Paris and plays with the best French musicians at the main jazz clubs of the French capital.

Back in Rome in 1999 performs every wendsday at the "CULT club" for the jazz lovers..... with the famous "Gregory's Nighthawks Ensamble" of which is part, the band is formed by twelve musicians.
Basentini is a special and permanent guests of the celebrated "Red Pellini Gang" Orchestra and a regular member to "Greg e i Jazzophone" of Claudio Gregori.
Performs mainly with Carlo Atti quintet, this formation is very much in demand from National jazz clubs
In 2001 Takes part as a solist at Renzo Arbore Album "Tonite Renzo Swing", together with the Swing Maniacs bands and performs at the main theatres in Italy such as:
-Sistina di Roma, Carlo Felice di Genova,Regio di Parma, Sporting Club in Montecarlo, Teatro Bellini di Catania .

Pietro Lussu
Pianist
Born in Rome in 1971. He started to learn jazz music at the age of 16 with pianist Massimo Rustik from Rome.
A year later he entered the Jazz University in Terni studying with Mike Melillo and attending workshops held and directed by Maurizio Giammarco, Paolo Fresu and Bruno Tommaso. He also attended the Siena Jazz seminars studying with Franco D'Andrea and Enrico Rava.
His past collaborative works include the following musicians:
Pietro Tonolo, Tom Kirkpatrick, Roberto Gatto, Maurizio Giammarco, Gabriele Mirabassi, Marco Tamburini, Matthew Garrison, Paolo Fresu, Cameron Brown and many others.
He has performed at the most important jazz clubs and festivals in Italy and Europe including: Jazz & Image (many editions) Jazz in Liege(Belgium), Getxo Jazz Festival '98 (Spain), Fano Jazz, Urbino Jazz '97, Perugia Classico, Ciney Jazz Festival '99 (Belgium), Catanzaro Jazz Festival '98, Fez Jazz Festival '98 (Bari), La Spezia Jazz Festival '99 (Italia), Jazzitaliano in New York and Jazzitaliano in China.
Vincenzo Florio
Double-bass player
Born in Rome in 1973.
Studies electric bass with Luca Pirozzi from 1990 to 1993 and self-taught duble-bass player.
Very active in the mid '90s with numerous bands in the most well known jazz clubs and jazz festivals all over Italy: Villa Celimontana, European Jazz Expo, Rocella Ionica, Montalcino Jazz & Wine, Acuto Jazz, Padova Jazz etc.
Worked with Daniele Tittarelli recording the album "Jungle Trane" and also with Vincenzo Lucarelli recording the "New Cycle Mood" CD.

Drummer
Born in Rome on 15 Sept. 1978
Attends drummer courses at TIMBA percussion school in Rome under Maestro Stefano d'Anna. Takes part to seminars directed by drummers Lorenzo Tucci, P. Mappa, E. Fioravanti, M. Rabbia. In 1996 studies with Maestro Gianni Di Renzo
Professional work experience:
starts his activity as a drummer in 1996 performing with different music style bands in many clubs in Rome. In 1998 starts studing jazz music and performs in trio with Luca Mannutza.
In 1999 is first prize winner with Cristiano Mastroianni quintet at the distinguiished Sangemini Jazz Competition, and a year later with the same quintet records a Cd entitled "LULÚ".
Collaborates with Daniele Tittarelli with whom performs at the European competition "Tremplin du jazz d' Avignon" in France. In 2001 performs live with George at Rai radio 3
