Artists: Deidda Brothers + Giovanni Amato & Amedeo Ariano
Great musicians of Italian Jazz the Deidda Brothers, Sandro, Dario and Alfonso, are considered as some of the most talented musicians on an international level. But also as a sort of "Harlem Globe Trotter" of music, they know perfectly jazz's history and language and play effortlessly at least three different instruments each, which often allows them to swap their roles while on the stage depending on the genre and style that they are facing.
The Deidda Brothers with the School of Salerno have been acclaimed by specialist critics as having incited Salerno to be considered the New Orleans of Italy. Each of the brothers Deidda have to their advantage their own numerous collaborations with the most noted Italian and international musicians.
Sandro Deidda
Born in Salerno (Italy) on March 21st, 1965, son of a famous Italian Jazz pianist known as "The Maestro of the Swing", bother of Dario and Alfonso both musicians.
Awarded a Diploma in clarinet, at the Umberto 1 Conservatory of Salerno, in 1987.
Graduated at the DAMS of Bologna and wrote a thesis on the songwriters of the classical period of popular American songs.
Awarded the Diploma in Jazz Music, scoring 10/10 at the Conservatory of Naples.
Plays the sax tenor, clarinet, flute, and piano.
Worked as a musician and has also arranged in the main National television broadcastings:

-Works as the first tenor sax and clarinet, in the orchestra directed by maestro Gianni Ferrio, for cinema and theatre sound-tracks.
From 1990, together with his brothers, the Deidda Brothers Group, he took part in many international festivals of jazz music. Second classed at the Grand Prix du Jazz of Aosta ('93) Sanremo Jazz and Blues '02).
Has worked together with the best jazz players on the national scenary, and performed with international musicians, such as Walter Bishop Jr., Hilton Ruiz, Carl Anderson, Claudio Roditi, Bill Mayas, he took part in 40 concerts in Europe with The Manhattan Transfer, the only European in the project.
In 2002 he set up the Quintet Sandro Deidda Special Five, with whom he performs in the main Italian festivals ..
-In 2003 he set up the Octet BossaBand, capturing a journey through the songbooks of the composers: Brasilian Jobim, Baden Powell, Toquino and Vinicius De Moraes, with whom he performs also in the Verdi Theatre of Salerno, on the 2003 fourth edition of the Incontri Internazionali della Musica.
In 2007 with is new band The Trio di Salerno performed at the Pori Jazz festival in Finland, the only Italian band chosen by the Finnish festival, a Cd will be released in May 2008..
He has held seminars and conferences on the history of Afro-American music and on jazz styles, in Rome and Salerno, for University institutions and cultural associations.
From 1994 to 2000 he taught saxophone and ensemble music at a famous School of Music in Rome.
From 2002 to 2003 he was a teacher and faculty director at the University of Music in Rome.

Dario Deidda
One of the best bass players in the world
Born in Salerno, 1968 , Italy.
Deidda plays electric and acoustic bass within the jazz scene, however is keen to play in other music genres. Music for him is God and must be embraced in 360 degrees to be successful, like he believes every great artist has done. He has collaborated with many American musicians including; Benny Golson, James Moody, George Coleman, George Garzone, Tom Harrell, Carl Anderson, Mulgrew Miller, Jerry Bergonzi, Kirk Lightsey, Steve Turre, Alex Sipiagin, Vinnie Colaiuta, J.P.Como, Paco Sery, Dede Ceccarelli, Bireli Lagrene, Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman, Peter Erskine, Gene Jackson, Clyde Stubbfield (in which he plays in his first album 'Go Jazz') Alphonso Johnson, R.Gatto, M.Giammarco, D.Rea, P.Fresu, E.Rava and many others. Deidda's first album entitled '3 from the ghetto' with Julian O.Mazzariello and Stephane Huchard was produced by G.Telesforo and Ben Sidran for his label 'Go Jazz' in 2003. He is now working on his new album and has recorded the new album for Fiorella Mannoia (one of the most famous Italian singers) along with many other great Brazilian artists.
Alfonso Deidda
Born in Salerno, Italy in 1970, the youngest of the the Deidda Brothers.
Graduated in the Saxophone at the Conservatorio di Musica of Salerno;
graduated with honours in Jazz music at the Music Academy of Naples.
He mainly plays the alto sax but often performs as a pianist, keyboard player and percussionist..
He boasts collaborations with many international artists such as: Mike Stern, Billy Cobham, Jimmy Owens, Lester Bowie, Famoudu Don Moye, Ronnie Cuber, Michel Petrucciani, Mulgrew Miller, Ben Sidran, Carl Anderson, Carl Alle, and with the best Italian Jazz talents: Gianni Basso, Romano Mussolini, Renzo Arbore, Giovanni Tommaso, Franco D'Andrea, Flavio Boltro, Maurizio Giammarco, Stefano Di Battista, Dado Moroni, Gianni Sanjust, Umberto Fiorentino, Antonio Faraé, Danilo Rea, Gegé Munari, Tullio De Piscopo, Roberto Gatto, Gegé Telesforo.
second classified at the "Massimo Urbani" national competition for altosaxophonist and winner of the 1st prize at Baronissi Competition with the Deidda Brothers (Sandro and Alfonso).
As a saxophonist and keyboard player took part in many televised programs and radio shows .
Deidda set up the "Cuban Stories", a latin style band and he is also author of almost the pieces included in the project - The Cuban stories is made up by the best Italian musicians and some Southamerican artists like the Cuban percussionist Ernestticco Rodriquez very famous in Italy. With his band performs regulary at the main jazz festivals and clubs and a Cd has also been released.
Amedeo Ariano
Autodidact drummer and percussionist.
Acclaimed as one of the best Italian jazz drummers by critics and the public alike.
Born in Salerno 1967, Ariano has been an active member of the Italian music scene for many years as well as gracing International stages in Moscow, Barcelona, Berlin and Malta.
From 1992 till 1998 he taught drums to the Setticlavio Music Academy of Salerno and is currently national co-ordinator of AIPS (National Association of Professional show businessmen), Art Director of Musicart Association, and Musical Consultant of the Emer Jazz Festival of Rome and of the International Festival "Oh Jazz be good".
Since 1998 he has been the drummer to the Sergio Cammariere jazz group, which won the Third Absolute Prize in 2003, at the distinguished Italian Music Festival "Sanremo" and played with Lucio Dalla at the Opera Theatre of Vienna.

Ariano was appointed as musician in the role of special extra in the films "Titus" with Jessica Lange and Anthony Hopkins, "Gli Eredi" with the famous Italian actress Anna Falchi, and as actor in the TV fiction "L' uomo sbagliato" by Stefano Reali.
Ariano's versatile style allows him to explore a whole array of music genres including, pop, blues, funky beats and easy listening.
